Precipitation Behaviors of AlN Inclusion in High-Al Steel

High-Al steel was prepared under laboratory conditions. The single-particle AlN and multi-particle aggregated AlN, AlON, AlN–MnS, Al2O3–AlN–MnS inclusions were observed by FESEM-EDS. are mainly in the form of blocks strips, with their size concentrated range 1 to 5 μm. polygonal, toroidal, irregular shape 13 AlN–MnS is less than 15 Thermodynamic calculation shows that inclusion precipitates two-phase region. Growth kinetics showed at end solidification ranged from 7 μm, which consistent inclusions. Lattice mismatch indicates can be as an effective site for MnS nucleation. equilibrium constant $$\log K_{{{\text{AlON}}}} = - 137841.3/T + 45.49$$ AlON constructed. Furthermore, mass percentage changes during predicted based on microsegregation model combined FactSage software.
